Peabody Special Education SCIL Teacher
I have been working at Peabody since 2008; first as the special education resource teacher and now as the SCIL teacher. I love living in Colorado and feel fortunate to be working at Peabody. Previously, I have lived in Germany and South Korea working for the Department of Defense Dependents Schools as a special education teacher. I have worked with students at both the elementary and middle school levels, providing individual, small group and whole class instruction to students with specific learning disabilities, autism, and other health impairments in both a resource and inclusion setting. Additionally, I have experience assessing students and collaborating with families, teachers and medical professionals to develop educational plans that meet the needs of each student. I have an undergraduate degree in International Studies and a Masters degree in Learning Disabilities from the University of South Carolina. I continue to take classes so that I can provide better services to my students. When I'm not traveling, I can be found outdoors, learning to garden, riding my horse, Taco, or walking my dogs, Finn and Marley.
