5280 Magazine Recognition - Peabody Elementary one of the top 40 elementary schools in the Denver Metro area!
We are proud to share that through all of our dedicated efforts, 5280 magazine (September 2010 issue) has recognized Peabody Elementary as one of the "40 top public and private schools in the Denver Metro area". The only LPS school to be recognized! This recognition is based on 2009 CSAP scores and the academic growth our students have made over time. This new Colorado Growth model recognizes the individual growth of students over a two year period of time. Thank you, classroom teachers, staff, parents and children! What an accomplishment!
50th Anniversary Celebration of Peabody
Peabody will celebrate its 50th year of public education for children on Friday October 1, 2010 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Please join us for a nostalgic look back to 1961 when the building opened. As you run into neighbors and friends that have a relationship to Peabody, please ask them to come celebrate with us! More details will follow over the next few weeks!
Professional Learning Community Late Start Days - 1st Late Start Day is Wednesday, September 1st
Late Start Days are valuable to our staff as we look at data on every student and determine how to best meet their learning needs. On this day our teachers will meet in vertical teams to discuss individual student needs and to work on grade level SMART goals. Thank you for your continuing support of our efforts to meet the needs of every child at Peabody. Children will start school on this day at 10:36 a.m. Children CANNOT be on the playground or in the building before 10:20 a.m. If you are in need of child care, please call our SACC director Mary Lloyd at 303-347-4625.
